Traditional Musical Instruments of Việt Ethnic Group is a scientific research on the traditional music, which was carried out through combination of doing research, applying methodology and applying informatics technology with the aim to "briefly introduce some of typical musical instruments of the Việt ethnic group". Vietnam is a community of 54 different ethnic groups living in the same proof of a unified Vietnam's house. Having aboriginal extraction, most of Vietnam's ethnic groups have the history of foundation and development conforming to the history of construction and defense of the country. Vietnam has been home to hundreds of distinctive and diversiform musical instruments. However, this book just provides readers with information about musical instruments of Viet people (also known as Kinh ethnic group). Basically, the traditional music of Việt Nam that has existed and developed up to now depending on the method of techniques of oral transmission through generations has been much relatively losing and eroding its precious treasure. Therefore, the today remains are the national quintessence and the eternal resource, which need preserving and enhancing. By making analysis, proving, summarizing in to theories, we are given a good opportunity to be accessible to the brief and comprehensive abstract of 45 musical instruments of the Viet Peoples. The book consists of the following parts in addition to the introduction and the annex. Chapter I: Overview of the history of the traditional musical instruments of Vietnam, the classification, terminology, symbols to be applied, and composition of orchestras. Chapter II: Focusing on Chordophonic musical instruments with brief outline, category, constructional description, timbre, performance techniques, roles in orchestras, the similar musical instruments of South East Asian and other countries. Chapter III: Focusing on Airophonic musical instruments with brief outline, category, constructional description, timbre, performance techniques, roles in orchestras, the similar musical instruments of South East Asian and other countries. Chapter IV: Focusing on Membranophonic and Idiophonic musical instruments with brief outline, category, constructional description, timbre, performance techniques, roles in orchestras, the similar musical instruments of South East Asian and other countries. Conclusion: Practical significance and effect. Annex including illustrating images. Totally, there are 444 pages and an easy- reference CD-ROM keeping materials, images, sound, and score enclosed with the CD using guideline. It is easily read on the computer and can be used as supporting material for teaching & learning the traditional music in conservatories, musical training institutions as well as reference materials for researchers on musical instruments
