1. Brief outline/Giới thiệu sơ lược:

Chầu drum is one of membranophonic musical instruments of beating branch without definite-pitch of the Viet peoples and many other ethnic groups. Chầu drum whose another name is Đại Cổ is used to give the introductory performance of a singing repertory in the tune Khai tràng (introductory) of Boi singing, or in the tune Thi vỡ nước of Chèo opera. The very instrument is performed to show the appreciation to sweet song, gracefully dances or ecstatic performances

rống Chầu là nhạc khí màng rung gõ không định âm của Dân tộc Việt và nhiều Dân tộc Việt Nam. Trống Chầu còn được gọi là Trống Ðại cổ, được sử dụng để mở màn một xuất hát trong điệu khai tràng của Hát Bội, hoặc thi vỡ nước của Hát Chèo. Trống Chầu cũng dùng để thưởng cho những câu hát êm tai, điệu múa đẹp mắt hoặc cách diễn nhập thần.
