Ả đào castanets that is used in genre of Ả đào singing consists of Bàn phách, Lá phách and Tay ba. Bàn phách is an auld bamboo piece of about 30cm 1ength, and 4 cm width. Two ends of Bàn phách are two nodes served as stands in order to keep a distance from Bàn phách to ground and make sounds. Bàn phách looks like a small long chair whose two bamboo nodes are considered two legs. Lá phách is a double wooden stick of 28cm length, posing of 2 flat slabs. The instrumentalist holds Lá phách in his/her right hand and knock in the surface of Bàn phách. Tay ba is a stick made of hard wood, usually jack-tree wood, of the same length with Lá phách and is hold in the left hand-Wooden or bamboo castanets consists of 2 round-chopped wooden or bamboo slabs of 18cm length and 2 cm diameter.
